The mission of the Carmignac Foundation is to share. It unveils its contemporary art collection and extends its reach through cultural and charitable sponsorship.

Founded in 2000, the Carmignac Foundation has its origins in the Carmignac Gestion private collection.

Edouard Carmignac, an asset manager, has been collecting contemporary art for more than 25 years. Housed in the management company's premises on Place Vendôme in Paris and in its international subsidiaries, this truly unique collection, originally built up around Pop Art and German expressionism, bears the imprint of the enthusiasms of the Chairman and founder of Carmignac Gestion.
Recent acquisitions include works from emerging countries in order to better reflect a constantly changing world to which we can all bear witness.

A rich and commited collection

The Carmignac collection currently boasts nearly 250 paintings, photographs and sculptures from the 20th and 21st centuries. Shared by all of the Carmignac Gestion teams, the collection provides a gateway to another universe, in accordance with the pioneering spirit behind Carmignac Gestion's success for more than 25 years on the international markets.

"Why contemporary art? Because - answers Mr Carmignac - I am in a state of constant anticipation and the works that speak to me are those which pose questions about the current condition of the world."
Our vocation as patron of the arts is not so much to accumulate as to set the wheels in motion, in order to offer a shared heritage to the community as a whole and to spread our passion for contemporary art.
