The Fondation Carmignac announces the appointment of Charles Carmignac as Head of the Foundation
Following his studies at ESCP Europe Business School Paris and Paris’s Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Paris), Charles Carmignac worked as an entrepreneur within the arts and environmental sectors. He launched numerous initiatives in the fields of journalism, communications and the arts, whilst simultaneously pursuing a 20-year career as a musician in the band Moriarty, and as an author.
He takes on the direction of the Fondation, focusing on the opening of their new site on the Island of Porquerolles, Southern France, planned for spring 2018.
Speaking of this project, Charles Carmigac commented: ‘An island is not something mundane - it’s about passing over to the other side, distancing yourself from the world in order to see it more clearly. And this is not just any island - nature is protected here, providing an ideal setting for a harmonious dialogue between art and the elements. The experience will be enhanced by the architecture, itself inspired by the landscape, a treasure garden, and a collection of works chosen for their resonance with the natural surroundings.’
