Korakrit Arunanondchai |1986 , Born in Bangkok

Korakrit Arunanondchai was born in Bangkok in 1986. His first contact with contemporary art took place at the end of high school, when he was visiting his brother in London. A few years later, after a short career in music, he decided to leave for the United States to study arts. He went to the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Columbia, where he was a student of Thai artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, known for his performances such as cooking or sharing typical Thai meals.

Thai culture also appears in Korakrit Arunanondchai‚Äôs work (Buddhism, "youth culture", etc.), but associated with Western symbols such as jeans, in a surprising melting pot. Arunanondchai also mixes in his works technology (using drones to film his videos) and craft techniques, fiction and reality - by inventing a kind of avatar that is found throughout his creations.
