Anne Deniau |1969 , Born in Brest, France

A universal photographer, Anne Deniau became interested in the world of images at a very young age : she set up her first photo laboratory with her brother when she was 10, and two years later, her father gave her an 8mm movie camera. Trained as an engineer, she went to live in Tokyo in 1995, working for Givenchy and Cartier, and then to London in 1997, where she went to Central Saint Martins school of Arts, and entered Alexander McQueen’s universe – for 13 years. Back to Paris, she started working for the Opéra de Paris en 2003, performing portraits, reportages and posters.

Anne Deniau's photographs have been published worldwide in magazines such as Hi-Fashion, le Monde, Première, Vogue UK, Vogue Italy, The Times and IO Donna. She has published many books about what she calls the in-side artists : Dancers, bullfighters, Alexander McQueen. This first phase of her work, initiated in 1997 and named « Interiors / Full Moon », will be completed in 2014 with a 10 years project temporarily called « Abandon ». Then a « New Moon » will start for this image maker who maintains that « photographs that don’t convey desire are dead letters. »
