Wayne Gonzales |1957 , Born in New Orléans, United States

Growing up in New Orleans in the 1960s, Wayne Gonzales' childhood was influenced by the repercussions of John F. Kennedy's murder. A momentous event that had a strong impact on his work : in fact, after his arrival in New York in 1980, the artist developed a strong interest in American political history of the last fifty years, including the key figures and the investigations, all of which played a big part in his canvases. His work, inspired by news photographs, displays his fascination with secrets, representing documents from the internet and newspapers that have been edited with different photographic techniques, using pixels and scanners.

Wayne Gonzales currently lives and works in New York ; his work has been exhibited in many galleries.
