Deniz Gul |1982 , Born in Izmir, Turkey

The work of Deniz Gül is always a combination of images, text and objects, that display her ironic view of Istanbul and the real world. This Turkish artist looks at the way people construct their identity in relation to the outside world, their roles in society and daily rituals. Her projects involve different stages, beginning with an installation and ending with a performance, which she photographs. She works like a director.

After studying Art and Visual Communication Design in Istanbul, Deniz Gül has continued to live and work there. Her work has been exhibited in the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille and the Centre De Cultura Contemporania in Barcelona.
