Dare Wright |1914 - 2001 , Born in Thornhill, Canada

A Canadian artist, Dare Wright grew up in Ohio. Her parents divorced when she was just three years old and she was brought up by her mother, a portrait artist. This had a big impact on the artistic work of the young photographer, who produced melancholic, narrative photographs. She moved to New York aged 20, and lived there until her death in 2001.

Dare Wright produced children's books and her photographs were exhibited for the first time in 2012 at the Fred Torres Collaborations exhibition space in New York.
