Lashkar members making preparations for the pehra (night patrol) in the hujra of tribal elder Ahmed Khan, whose portrait is on the wall. In the small image, he is seen standing with his two sons who live in the UK. In 2008, three of his bodyguards and one of his nephews were shot by the militants, due to his resistance to the Taliban’s rules during their regime that controlled the Swat Valley before May 2009’s successful military operation.
